About the role

Just Recruitment is recruiting for a Maintenance Manager for a manufacturer within the engineering sector based in Braintree, Essex.

The role will involve managing the maintenance team in planned maintenance and breakdown repairs throughout the site. The job is to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the company-wide machines and buildings.

Hours: Mon to Fri, 6.45am to 3.15pm.

Duties will include:

  • Responsible for H&S of the Maintenance Workshop, Maintenance Team, and machinery within the department.
  • Responsible for H&S whilst working on any machines during planned or unplanned work.
  • Building a planned maintenance schedule and allocating work to your team.
  • Complete a monthly Directors report for your department advising of the budget required for a rolling 3 month period – this should include a detailed breakdown of what work is planned and the cost per job.
  • Attend H&S meetings and act on improvements required but also positively engage in the process.
  • Maintain stock levels of critical spare parts for breakdown of vital plant and machinery.
  • Be available at short notice (outside normal working hours – evenings/weekends etc) to remain onsite to repair breakdown machinery.
  • Appraising your team ongoing including annual appraisals.

Skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Apprenticeship minimum to NVQ Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering (Craft and Technician) Foundry.
  • Management or Supervisory Training e.g. ILM level 3 or above.
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics training.
  • Electrical qualifications - Electrical Maintenance basics at a minimum.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Ideally, 5+ years experience as a Maintenance Technician/Engineer.
  • Ideally, 2+ years experience as a Manager of a department.
  • Experience 5+ years of team working (2 or more people).
  • Ideally have 5 GCSE’s including Maths, English and Science (C or above).
  • A good working knowledge of Windows and MS Office.
    • MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel most importantly.
    • Trello (ideally).

Factory Labourer

About the role

Just Recruitment is recruiting for a Labourer to join a company based in Braintree, Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity to work for an organisation that offers a varied project workload with excellent scope for progression.

The role will require close coordination with various departments including, goods in/out and the factory.

The main responsibilities in this role are as follows:

  • Loading and unloading delivery vehicles manually (if required).
  • Using industrial hoover to clean areas.
  • Labouring – removing metal parts from sand moulds and placing sand in the recycling plant.
  • General labouring – sweeping, emptying bins, clearing areas.
  • Operating cranes to weigh and move parts.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Participate in company safety initiatives.
  • Work to provide results in a timely manner in accordance with planned dates/times.
  • Assist with improvements (Lean 5s) to procedures, equipment, operating methods etc. - to increase efficiency.

You will be comfortable using computers regarding email, Word and Excel.

Having a forklift licence is advantageous.

You will ideally display the following attributes:

  • Hardworking and self-motivated.
  • Ability to use your own initiative to plan workload when required.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in quality assurance and process control.
  • Used to working in a heavy industrial engineering environment.

Hours of work:

  • 39 hours per week.
  • Monday to Thursday, 7.00am to 3.00pm.
  • Friday, 7.00am to 2.00pm.
