Despite all of our ongoing concerns and enforced restrictions, Mother Nature stands still for nothing
Today, I want to share with you a snippet, from the book ‘Wood and Garden’, written by Getrude Jekyll. Born in 1843, Jekyll is one of the true greats of garden design and she also wrote many books in which she liked to paint a picture with her descriptive writing. In this particular piece, Jekyll expressed her feelings for ‘arranging plants and trees and grassy spaces that they look happy and at home…a garden so treated gives the delightful feeling of repose and refreshment’. Being amongst nature, especially in spring, can give you so much joy and hope as well as exercise and fresh air. A place that can make you feel happy.

If you are lucky enough to have a garden to escape to, then think about how you can transform, tidy and refresh it, making it a place that will give you hope during this dark time. Set aside an area for flowers to add colour to your life and a home for returning insects including our wonderful bees and butterflies.
