About the role:

Key responsibilities include:

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity role.

Working hours:

• Following a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, working 2 days and 2 nights then 4 days off.
• Working days for approx. 6 weeks whilst being trained.
• Shifts run from 7am to 7pm / 7pm to 7am — working 2 days / 2 nights.

Main duties to include:

• Running lines and working on compound materials.
• Machine minding.
• Select, check and apply the correct material recipes and equipment set-up conditions.
• Carry out grade changes and periodic equipment cleaning to the required standards in a safe and timely manner.
• In accordance with procedures, make necessary changes to set-up conditions and or recipe to maintain both quality standards and target output rates.
• Periodically undertake full stripping and cleaning of extrusion equipment and other related plant as required.
• Undertake visual inspections and first-line maintenance tasks within the scope of the role.

Role will involve:

• Overseeing the machine(s) production plan, managing production manning systems through collaborating with internal teams, and monitoring key performance metrics to ensure timely and high-quality output.
• Championing the implementation of the new ERP (Production data), TMS (time & attendance) systems for accurate data entry and payroll approval—a clear understanding of the Management of Change and engaging teams will be a key requirement.
• Identifying and addressing performance-related issues, optimising processes, and managing resources effectively to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Championing the rollout and implementation of ongoing 5S and SMED projects.

Key skills required:

• Six Sigma qualification (Green or Yellow belt).
• Experience in supervising large teams.
• Previous experience with SQCDP principles.
• Experience with MRP systems.
• Expert in Microsoft suite of applications inc, Excel, Word, Teams etc.

Working hours:

8.00am to 4.30pm / 9.00am to 5.3pm (can be flexible).

• Read and understand product/gauge technical drawings.
• Utilise production measuring equipment accurately.
• Collaborate with technical and toolroom teams for trial tools, modifications, and repairs.

Hours of work:

Working late shift.
Monday to Thursday, 13.30 to 22.00 (½-hour dinner break).
Friday 12.00 to 19.00.
Training: 2-3 months on day shift before moving to split shift.

Experience:

• Experience operating and maintaining basic power presses.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and use basic measuring equipment.
• Understanding of quality control procedures.
