In this exciting post, the Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing the whole service department operations, including routine maintenance, reactive call-outs and remedial works on a range of capital equipment. You will be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day management of, service planning, coordination and the Field Service team of engineers/technicians.

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate a strong background working in a Service / Maintenance Management capacity, with practical knowledge of capital equipment maintenance and repair.

You should have the ability to manage multiple teams and tasks at any one time.

Role requirements include:

• Degree educated in Engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of experience in service management or a related role, with knowledge of service management principles, processes and best practices.
• Demonstrated success in customer service, handling complaints and budget management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of maintenance/repair processes.
• Time management & organisational skills.
• IT literate.
• Proficient user of MS Office (Word / Excel).
• Exceptional problem‐solving and decision‐making abilities, with a customer‐centric approach to resolving service‐related challenges.

You will coordinate the logistics of the transition, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Throughout this process, you will keep the team informed about the status of lease terminations or potential renewals, ensuring that any transitions are handled smoothly and without creating concern among employees. On a day-to-day basis, you will prepare regular reports on facility status, maintenance activities, safety compliance, lease management, and any ongoing lease negotiations, providing clear and actionable insights to support operational efficiency and long-term planning. Working hours:

Key tasks will include:

• Select, check and apply the correct material recipes and equipment set-up conditions.
• Operating multiple logic-controlled machines (Extrusion, Slitter, Sheeter, Stretcher and more).
• Carry out grade changes and periodic equipment cleaning to the required standards in a safe and timely manner.
• In accordance with procedures, make necessary changes to set-up conditions and or recipe to maintain both quality standards and target output rates.
• Periodically undertake full stripping and cleaning of extrusion equipment and other related plant as required.
• Undertake visual inspections and first-line maintenance tasks within the scope of the role.
• Monitor feed stock levels and ensure sufficient material to maintain production.
• Loading and unloading goods, using Fork Trucks, Grab Trucks, and Pedestrian Operated Lift Trollies etc..

Responsibilities include:

• In accordance with Quality Control procedures, perform timely checks, taking appropriate action to ensure quality standards are met.
• Record equipment set-up conditions at specified intervals and immediately act on or notify of any deviation from standard.
• Monitor and accurately record production data.
• Complete production records, quality charts and events logs.
• Enter production and quality data into a computer-based system in an accurate and timely manner.
• Accurately record reel start and stop times, assigning correct levels of downtime to the relevant attributable causes.
• Produce and attach reel identification “Bar Code” labels, ensuring all data is correct.
• Use the computer-based system to dispatch reels, prior to loading onto a lorry.

You will be responsible for operating multiple CNC Sliding Head machines. Your duties will include:

• Programming and Adjustments: Making minor program edits, performing tool changes, and adjusting machine settings during the prove-out process. This will be done according to the tool list and work instructions.
• Production: Ensuring a valid first-off component is produced before running full production. Loading and operating machines to achieve the required production quantities.
• Quality Control: Conducting in-process inspections by checking components against technical drawings and specifications to ensure they meet the highest standards of accuracy and quality.

Experience required:

• Setting and operating CNC Sliding Head lathes.
• Reading and understanding engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Proficiency in a range of measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
