This is a dynamic role that combines technical expertise with customer service. You will have a passion for working with machinery and solving problems on the spot.

Key responsibilities include:

• Service and maintenance: Supply, fit, service, and maintain compressors, pipework, receivers, dryers, and more!
• Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnose faults, carry out temporary repairs when necessary, and ensure machines are running efficiently and effectively on-site.
• Customer-focused: Engage with customers directly to discuss the best options for each job, offering expert advice and solutions. Once trained, you will become the face of the company, so a friendly and professional approach is essential.
• Safety and PPE: Wear provided overalls and PPE (personal protective equipment) while working on various sites, some of which may be dusty or dirty.
• Team collaboration: Work as part of a small but skilled team, sharing knowledge and ensuring jobs are completed to the highest standard.

Key duties include:

• Maintaining all buildings, equipment, and services in a safe and cost-effective manner, through effective maintenance programmes ensuring traceable and auditable records are maintained.
• Ensuring the changes to equipment and infrastructure are adequately managed via the appropriate site procedures.
• Ensuring that all engineering/maintenance work carried out on-site complies with relevant regulations, ensuring all inspection and testing regimes are completed as required.
• Identifying orders or supporting the business in ordering the parts or services required to satisfy the day-to-day maintenance and engineering requirements of the business and to catalogue and control stocks of necessary spares.
• Undertaking and supporting the coordination and implementation of any capital projects or site improvement works required, including installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Working with the Production Manager to ensure that a flexible schedule is in place to provide appropriate cover for maintenance and engineering works outside of standard working hours including call-outs where required.
• Working with Site Management, Production and Technical teams in looking at improving plant efficiency and minimising processing times, ensuring data is recorded to enable analysis to take place.
• Completing and maintaining all records in a timely manner ensuring they are available and auditable as required.
• Completing process confirmations and risk assessments as required.
• Proactively participate in resolving process, equipment, or quality and EHS problems as quickly as possible and assist in the maintenance of production continuity in a planned and safe manner.
• Ensuring all engineering contractors meet the agreed standards and competencies required to carry out maintenance and engineering tasks on-site.
• Supervising and coordinating maintenance or engineering work that is required to be contracted out ensuring appropriate permits are completed and procedures followed.

To be considered for this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills:

• Recognised apprenticeship to ONC/Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Engineering.
• LV electrically competent with strong electrical knowledge/fault-finding skills.
• 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering.
• 5 years experience working in manufacturing environments.
• Experience in repairing and maintaining motors, instruments, control panels and filling lines etc.
• Experience and understanding of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), including designing, implementing, testing, documenting, and fault finding.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand technical documents and drawings.
• Good understanding of risk assessment and method statements.
• Sound analysis and decision-making skills.
• An open-minded, flexible attitude to meet the requirements of the business.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

• Develop new electronics designs for ECU.
• Evaluate customer and internal requirements and identify gaps in current products.
• Prepare product designs to meet internal and customer requirements.
• Develop complete schematics, Bill of Material and other technical documentation.
• Develop worst-case analysis for each requirement.
• Create and maintain Electrical DFMEA.
• Apply BOD, BOP and defined engineering standards procedures and methodologies to execute project activities.
• Provide technical assistance to PCB ECAD teams.
• Release design documentation.
• Support Validation teams during the Design Validation and Process Validation phases.
• Prepare reports, technical presentations and status for internal and customer use.
• Ensure reports and presentations include clear analysis and summaries for decision-making.
• Execute tasks required to meet project objectives (cost, quality and timing).
• Escalate risks and issues to core team members and management in a timely manner.
• Apply problem-solving in the execution of project activities.
• Ensure that designs meet cost targets, manufacturability requirements and EOL recycling targets.

Skills required:

Mandatory

• Proven electronics design experience.
• Experienced with Functional Safety ISO26262 and FMEDA.
• Experience with Electrical DFMEA.
• Experience with effective problem-solving methodologies.
• Software tools: MS Office, ECAD programs (XPedition Enterprises preferred), Simulation tools.
• Fluent in English speaking and writing.

Experience and qualifications required:

• University Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or suitable equivalent qualification and experience.
• Experience in automotive electronics hardware development.
