Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

About the role

Just Recruitment is working with an international organisation with a manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Sudbury—looking to add a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join its growing team.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the layout of the site, being involved with and understanding the installation of new services during the development of the site.
  • Assisting with the layout of the equipment, being involved with and understanding the installation of new equipment and the production process flow.
  • Be a key member of the Engineering Team in the creation of the:
    • Site Engineering maintenance department.
    • Site Engineering maintenance facility.
    • Site Engineering control system, maintenance schedules and procedures (CMMS computerised maintenance management system).
    • Site Engineering technical stores.
    • Site Engineering technical library both manual and electronic.
  • Fault finding and problem solving on a variation of production and site equipment.
  • Creating and carrying out planned maintenance schedules.
  • Liaising with suppliers and service companies regarding problem-solving and service engineer visits.
  • Identifying spare parts for all equipment, in line with business strategies.
  • Liaising with production teams to identify, implement, and optimise improvements to machinery and plant.
  • Identifying and carrying out Engineering improvement projects when required.
  • Actively train down skills through standardised work to both Production Operatives through TPM and other shift Engineers.
  • Working with suppliers with the installation of new and existing plant and equipment.
  • Providing technical assistance to aid in the verification of new equipment.

Essential qualifications and experience required:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • HNC Engineering Qualification.
  • Experience in PPM and TPM.
  • Experience with both mechanical and electrical fault finding.
  • Experience in a fast-paced maintenance department.

About the role

Just Recruitment is working with an established and stable organisation based in Clacton that is looking to add a Test Technician to its long-standing team.

The key purpose of this role is to work alongside the Senior Test Engineer to test finished manufactured products.

Key duties include:

  • Assisting in executing test procedures in line with company quality management procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Gain technical knowledge of products, consequently assisting/dealing directly with technical sales enquiries.
  • Manual handling of products up to 75kg utilising associated lifting equipment and loading/unloading onto necessary test rigs.
  • Managing external calibration schedule and carrying out in-house calibration of test equipment.
  • Administering and adjusting where necessary written test procedures and data logging in line with auditable requirements.
  • Maintaining up-to-date legislative test knowledge and updating necessary documentation/staff within the Test Department.
  • Represent the business at national seminars/briefings when required.

Role requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineer Qualification – i.e. City & Guilds level 2, NVQ.
  • Proven practical experience in a Mechanical Engineering environment.
  • Computer literate – (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Good communicator and telephone manner.
  • Interest in test procedures and willingness to learn.

Working hours are:

  • 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday.
  • And 8.00am to 3.30pm on Friday.

The role offers 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays.
