Warehouse Operative

We are working with a well-regarded, industry-leading manufacturing organisation, based on the outskirts of Maldon – they are looking for a Warehouse Operative on a fixed-term contract – for 12 months. For the right candidate, this could be extended or turn into a permanent role.
The key purpose of this role is to support the overall warehouse function, to unload and load in a busy and fast-paced environment – ensuring customer needs are met and exceeded, and business processes are followed at all times.
Key duties include:
• Driving Counterbalance FLT on a regular basis.
• Ensuring FLT checks are carried out daily and failures reported via internal system.
• Carrying out picking of products in a timely and accurate manner.
• Supporting the packing room, ensuring packaging material is always available to support line efficiency.
• Ensuring stock rotation is done in compliance with agreed site standards.
• Reporting all damages to the stock controller/line manager and locating them in quarantine once advised.
• Completing pre-loading/unloading vehicle inspections and ensuring drivers follow the site rules.
• Ensuring the vehicle is loaded without damages.
• Transferring products to standard pallets.
• Loading and unloading of vehicle containers.
• Maintaining effective communication with hauliers and line management.
• Following site escalation procedures in the event of issues, non-compliance and failures.
• Ensuring all personnel visiting the area follow site HSE procedures.
• Ensuring product is delivered/dispatched with correct documentation.
• Ensuring weekly cleaning schedule is completed and updated via internal system.
• Taking reasonable and practical care of personal health and safety and of others who may be required to implement any legal or company directives regarding health and safety at work.
• Maintaining and driving all standards relating to Health & Safety, quality, and hygiene.
Knowledge, skills & experience required:
• Practical experience of working within a high speed/FMCG manufacturing operation is essential.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and HSE processes and legislation is essential.
• Experience of driving a Counterbalance FLT, and a valid, externally accredited licence, is essential.
• Valid driving licence to drive on public highways is essential.
• Understanding of working with scanners is an advantage.
Working hours:
• 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, working 8.00am – 4.15pm.
