HGV Class 2 Driver

We are proud to be supporting a well-established and growing business in Witham in their search for an HGV Class 2 Driver.

You will be responsible for ensuring the products are transported safely and efficiently from the factory to customers across the UK. A valid Moffett Licence, or experience using a Moffett, is highly desirable.

This is a multi-drop delivery role, with 6-10 deliveries a day, dependent on size and location. It involves a large amount of city driving, and early starts from HQ in Witham. You may be asked to stay out overnight on some occasions and if this is required, you will be provided with a “night out allowance”.

Duties include:
• Providing customers with an accurate and efficient delivery, maintaining excellent levels of customer service.
• Loading/securing and unloading products, ensuring they are secure for transportation. Some manual handling is expected in this role.
• Planning routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules.
• Inspecting vehicles daily for safety and mechanical issues and performing basic maintenance tasks, taking appropriate action where necessary.
• Adhering to traffic laws and regulations at all times. Reporting any accidents or damages as soon as possible.
• Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance and any other documentation required.
• Attending any and all relevant training as required, ensuring you remain fully equipped to perform your role.
• Maintaining excellent communication with the internal transport team and other drivers.

Person specification:
• HGV Class 2 licence or (above).
• Valid (in date) driver CPC and Digital Tachograph.
• Moffett Licence highly desirable.
• HGV multidrop experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.
