General Production Operator

We are currently working with a growing manufacturing organisation based in Halstead, who are looking to recruit a General Production Operator to join their team.

The key purpose of this role is to play an important role in the day-to-day running of production operations. You will be responsible for safely operating basic machinery, supporting production line activities, and helping ensure products consistently meet high quality standards.

This is a permanent role working on either a fixed shift pattern of mornings (6am–2pm) or afternoons (2pm–10pm). Flexibility will be key to supporting changing production and operational demands.

Responsibilities:
• Supporting the safe and efficient operation of the production area, ensuring machinery and production lines run smoothly while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and teamwork.
• Safely operating basic production machinery, in line with standard operating procedures.
• Supporting the set-up, operation, and ongoing monitoring of production lines, carrying out basic visual quality checks.
• Following all health, safety, and other business requirements while working closely with colleagues to achieve production targets.

Key candidate requirements:
• You will bring a positive and responsible approach to your work and be comfortable operating in a manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and teamwork are essential.
• You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment and understand the importance of following procedures.
• You will take health and safety seriously and pay close attention to quality and detail.
• You must enjoy working as part of a team, be reliable, and be willing to learn and develop new skills.
