Field Installation Engineer

Job ref: 913790

Just Recruitment is working with a growing business that is at the forefront of its sector. Due to the retirement of a longstanding team member, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Field Service Engineer in the Cambridgeshire area on a permanent basis.

This is a truly national role, with extensive travel and regular overnight stays required.

The role would suit someone with experience in the fitting and installation of capital equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installation & Commissioning: Installing new equipment and conducting acceptance testing to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Physical Ability: Capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in potentially challenging environments.
  • Adaptability: Working across a diverse range of environments, from construction sites to high-pressure operational areas.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of installations, commissioning activities and repairs, as well as updating asset management databases.
  • Customer Training: Providing user training to end clients when required.
  • Customer Support: Providing feedback to customers on any issues identified or raised during installation visits.

You will have a strong background in mechanical field service, mechanical installation or mechanical fitting, ideally within a capital equipment environment. An Engineering qualification would be advantageous, such as an NVQ, apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 qualification, City & Guilds Craft Certificate, or HNC/HND in Engineering.

You will have excellent customer service skills and a confident, professional manner when working in customer-facing environments.

You will also need to hold a CSCS card or equivalent.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a world-class organisation. You will become part of a national team of Field Service Engineers who take great pride in their work and are committed to building long-term relationships with customers.

You will work with new technologies, tackling fresh challenges while receiving ongoing support and guidance from senior management. The company will support your professional development through a range of training courses, helping you strengthen and expand your technical knowledge.

For those with the ambition to progress, there are excellent opportunities to develop your career within the department and across the wider organisation.
